Do I need my HSC results to apply?

No. In the pre-admission round, you're assessed on your 10th or 11th marks, your Letter of Intent and an interview. You can apply while you're still in 12th.

Can Commerce and Arts students apply?

Yes. The programme is open to students from all academic streams who have completed Class 12 from a recognised board. If you score 75% or above with Mathematics you are eligible for direct admission. Otherwise you take the QAT.

I've never coded before. Is that a problem?

No. Programming is taught from the basics in Year 1. What helps most is curiosity and being comfortable with numbers.

Why a B.Sc. in Data Science instead of engineering?

A B.Tech is a four-year degree that covers broad engineering subjects. This is a three-year degree focused on data, analytics and AI, with business applications built in. If you know you want to work with data, you get focused training and can start working a year earlier. You can still add a master's later.

How are placements at SDBI?

Our placement cell works with you from Year 1 on your resume, LinkedIn and interview skills, and every student does a mandatory internship. Across B.Sc. batches, 60% received a pre-placement offer during their internship. The highest package was ₹11 LPA, the average ₹6 LPA and the median ₹4 LPA. We offer 100% placement assistance.

What are the fees? Can I pay in instalments?

The programme fee is Rs 2,40,416 for Year 1, Rs 2,54,396 for Year 2 and Rs 2,80,546 for Year 3. Fees can be paid in monthly instalments and education loans are available through HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and NKGSB Bank. A Rs 25,000 pre-admission registration fee secures your seat.

How does the scholarship work?

Up to 50% on the programme fee goes to the top 30 applicants in the pre-admission round, decided on your Letter of Intent, achievements and interview. A separate academic performance scholarship of up to 30% is available. Academic gap years are not eligible.

What if I also get a seat through CET or another college?

Please read the cancellation and refund policy for provisional admission before you pay the initial fee. Our counsellors can walk you through it.

The Quantitative Aptitude Test is for students who score below 75% in Class 12. It is a 2-hour multiple-choice test of 100 marks: 70% Maths & Statistics and 30% Verbal/English. The pass mark is 50%, with a 25% deduction for incorrect answers. A short interview follows. Registration fee Rs 1,000.
